KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO), Jamaica’s trade and investment agency says it is anticipating a successful 2015 Jamaica Investment Forum (JIF), which is scheduled for March 10-12 at the Montego Bay Convention Centre in St James.
The event is Jamaica’s premier international investment and business conference. It is designed for eager investors and business executives, who want to discover business opportunities and industry developments, learn about alternative emerging opportunities and discuss Jamaica’s business climate.
“We want this to be a dealmaking forum, hence the emphasis on marketing projects submitted by local business people, so we can actually discuss business and concrete opportunities. On top of that we are focused on the key sectors of tourism, logistics, manufacturing, business processing outsourcing (BPO), agribusiness and international financial services.
JAMPRO president and CEO, Diane Edwards, says that it will be a dealmaking forum, with the emphasis on marketing projects submitted by local business people, so that they can actually discuss business and concrete opportunities.
“On top of that we are focused on the key sectors of tourism, logistics, manufacturing, business processing outsourcing (BPO), agribusiness and international financial services,” she said.
“I want to also add that investors and business executives will get an exclusive opportunity for dialogue with the Prime Minister, other senior decision-makers in our Government, global business leaders, prominent international speakers and industry experts,” she added.
In addition to Prime Minister Portia Simpson-Miller, other speakers will include: Finance Minister Dr Peter Phillips; Industry, Investment and Commerce Minister, Anthony Hylton; the World Bank’s Senior Director for Group Global Practice on Trade and Competitiveness, Anabel Gonzales; International Monetary Fund (IMF) Western Hemisphere Director, Dr Alejandro Werner; International Finance Corporation, Chief Investment Officer for Global Infrastructure, Shinji Yamamoto; Vistaprint, Senior Vice President, Jon Habeski; Commerzbank, Head of Export Finance BeNeLux-France Jacques Nyssen.
