Brand Jamaica ambassador Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO) will be gracing the Restaurants Canada Show (RC Show 2018) with an incredible selection of food products. From spices, sauces, and beverages, to premier coffee brands, audiences at the Enercare Centre in Toronto will taste a range of Jamaican flavours on display for the event scheduled from February 25-27, 2018. Jamaica will also host a special day for buyers at a breakfast networking event on February 28 at The Chef’s House on Kings Street East.
The Jamaican exhibit will mirror the beautiful fusion of cultures, techniques and traditions that this multidimensional country has to offer. The delegation is ready to show the unique flavours that abound in the Caribbean.
As a government agency for Jamaica’s Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation, JAMPRO promotes business opportunities in exports and investments to the local and international private sector. JAMPRO will be leading the delegation with the hope of connecting with Canada’s Caribbean community and food industry.
Claude Duncan, JAMPRO’s Vice President of Sales and Promotion, said, “Due to its large Jamaican Diaspora community and current investment opportunities, Canada is a primary market for our products. Canada’s RC Show is one of the avenues we are utilizing to showcase some of our unique brands. Our engagement is an important step in growing exports and finding additional markets for Jamaica’s authentic food brands and products.”
Duncan added, “We are excited to share with Canada a wide range of unique and exotic food products that Jamaica offers. We are inviting buyers from across Canada to visit our warm and vibrant booth; experience our Jamaican culture and celebrate our rich and tasty flavours.”
Dubbed “Flavours of Jamaica”, the booth will feature the National Jamaican dish Ackee, Fresh Seasoning, including known Jamaican staple Jerk, Rum, Coffee and Fresh Produce. Grace Kennedy Limited, Southern Fruits & Food Processors Limited, Tijule Company Limited (suppliers of delectable sauces and spices), Mavis Bank Coffee Factory, Country Traders Limited (distributors and roasters of 100% Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee) and Wisynco Group Limited (manufacturers of authentic juices) make up the Jamaican delegation of suppliers.
The brands will be sampling their products, while guests enjoy the ambiance of traditional Jamaican music and cooking demonstrations.
