Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO) is seeking to raise the profile of Jamaica’s agricultural sector as an area for viable investments.
The investment promotions agency says it will be seeking to promote investment projects in agriculture and generate interest among local investors at the second edition of its Agricultural Information Forum in Montego Bay, St James this Tuesday at the Iberostar Beach and Spa Resort, beginning at 9 a.m.
According to JAMPRO, the event will be a platform to highlight agriculture as an important business opportunity, as well as to emphasize the government’s commitment to supporting the growth of the sector. The forum will also be used to demonstrate how private sector companies are successfully employing innovative approaches such as anchor farms and contract farming to grow their businesses.
Audley Shaw, minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture & Fisheries, will be the guest speaker.
Other presenters will include JAMPRO President Diane Edwards, Claude Duncan, vice president, Sales and Promotions at JAMPRO; Sylburn Thomas, CEO, Agro-Investment Corporation; and Taji Alleyne, general manager, Grace Agro Processors (GAP) Division – GK Foods & Services Limited.
