Jamaica villas beat Hawaii for 2018

Jamaica’s villa scene with its simplistic luxury and attractions beat Hawaii to rank fourth as the most sought after destination in the portfolio of Villas of Distinction, a premiere luxury villa rental company.

The top destinations included ItalyOrlandoHawaii, Turks & Caicos, Jamaica and Hawaii. That’s according to the 2018  ‘most sought after villa vacation destinations,’ which was based on industry insights.

Villas of Distinction operates a portfolio of thousands of privately-owned villas in more than 50 luxurious destinations including the CaribbeanMexicoHawaiiEuropeCentral America, the Continental United States and many private islands.

Villas of Destination said that a villa vacation to Jamaica continues to provide the “best value of any Caribbean villa experience”, said Steve Lassman, Vice President of Villa Product & Agency Relations for Villas of Distinction in a statement from the company.

Staff including a chef, butler, housekeeper and laundress are included in the cost of most Jamaican villas, making each villa a personalized vacation with a staff to cater to one’s every need.

It manages 107 villas in Jamaica in 11 locations with most in Montego Bay followed by Tryall. The average properties rent between US$2,000 to US$4,000 a night, usually between five to seven rooms.

“In addition, the island has so much to offer in the way of activities from snorkeling, scuba diving, golfing, hiking, zip lining, and horseback riding to climbing the world-famous 600-foot-high Dunn’s River Falls or enjoying Jamaica’s 27 native species at the Rocklands Feeding Station,” he said.

Last year’s leading villa vacation destinations were: Italy, Hawaii, Jamaica, St. John and Florida. For more than 25 years, Villas of Destination has booked truly customized vacation experiences for the luxury traveler.
