JAMPRO RELAUNCHES NORTH AMERICAN REGIONAL OFFICE IN CANADA
September 28, 2026
Kingston, Jamaica – September 27, 2026: The Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO), an agency of the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce, Jamaica’s Business Ministry, has relaunched its services in Canada through its North American Regional Office (NARO) based in Toronto.
The relaunch comes as Senator the Honourable Aubyn Hill leads an Export and Investment Business Mission across North America. The Canada leg of the mission, taking place from September 24 to 26, 2026, highlights Jamaica's commitment to strengthening investment, export growth and commercial partnerships in the Canadian market.
The relaunch of JAMPRO’s outreach in this significant market is central to accelerating export growth into Canada and strengthening foreign direct investments into Jamaica. Through the Toronto-based office, the agency will pursue stronger federal and provincial partnerships, extend the commercial corridors connecting Jamaica and Canada, and create new opportunities for investment, export and business collaboration.
Margaret Baird, who now leads NARO-Canada has already begun implementing this expansive program through targeted activations and regional promotional strategies within key Canadian markets beyond Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area.
“Canada remains an important partner for Jamaica and a market with significant opportunities for investment, exports and business expansion. Strengthening JAMPRO's presence in Toronto helps us connect more Canadian investors with opportunities in Jamaica, support our exporters and build stronger business relationships between our countries,” said Senator the Honourable Aubyn Hill, Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce.
Shullette Cox, President of JAMPRO, said, “This relaunch sends a clear signal that JAMPRO’s North American Regional Office is more focused and more ready than ever to attract and facilitate business for Jamaica. We are strengthening our presence across Canada, and not just in Toronto, while also working more closely with the High Commission in Ottawa to build partnerships and connect more Canadian businesses with opportunities in Jamaica.”
In effecting its mandate, the office will collaborate with the foreign service offices in Ottawa and Toronto as well as the JAMPRO teams in Jamaica to coordinate market engagement, strengthen Jamaica’s visibility and advance partnerships in priority sectors. This closer alignment will support a more integrated approach to identifying and converting commercial opportunities across the Canadian market. The relaunch also aligns with the ongoing Export and Investment Business Mission led by Minister Hill across the United States and Canada, with engagements in Atlanta, New York City, and Toronto from September 22–29.
In Toronto, the Ministerial mission overlapped with a JAMPRO-led agribusiness mission to Canada that included Montreal and Ottawa, reflecting the agency’s broader strategy to deepen market access and strengthen commercial partnerships across Canada. Several Jamaican companies also participated in the mission, both virtually and in person, further expanding engagement opportunities and facilitating business-to-business connections with Canadian stakeholders.
