The Jamaica Promotions Corporation, (JAMPRO) is currently leading a trade mission at the Havana International Fair (FIHAV) in Cuba from October 29 – November 4, 2018. FIHAV is the largest annual multi-sector trade fair in Cuba, and is organised by the Cuban Government and the Cuban Chamber of Commerce.
The mission, which includes 8 Jamaican companies, is part of JAMPRO’s Cuban market development strategy as the Agency seeks to increase exports to the Cuban market. JAMPRO’s interest in the Cuban economy is a result of the country’s expanding services sector, which is in need of products to support the rising demand for goods related to the services boom.
Participation in FIHAV re-affirms Jamaica’s commitment and continued interest in expanding and deepening relations with Cuba. JAMPRO hopes to get more companies in the Cuban market through this platform to build on the market penetration initiative’s current success, as some of Jamaica’s exporters have already secured orders, with others currently in negotiations.
The Jamaican brands will be showcasing Food & Beverage products, Construction Materials, Chemicals and Agricultural Supplies.
