Today, the Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO) and the Jamaica Special Economic Zone Authority (JSEZA) officially solidified their commitment to collaborative efforts in driving economic growth in Jamaica through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
JAMPRO, with its focus on growing the economy through exports, investments, and local linkages across various sectors including agribusiness, manufacturing, logistics, global digital services, tourism, mining, and the creative industries, joins forces with the JSEZA, which is implementing the Government’s special economic zone (SEZ) regime aimed at growing the national economy and supporting Jamaica’s transformation into a global logistics hub.
Recognizing the strategic importance of strengthening cooperation between JAMPRO and the SEZA, both entities will be working together towards the development of SEZs in Jamaica and promoting and facilitating both local and foreign direct investment in these zones. Guided by principles of mutual cooperation, respect, and integrity, the signing of this MOU underscores the shared vision of both organizations in achieving Jamaica’s status as a global logistics hub.
This partnership between JAMPRO and the JSEZA marks a significant step forward in Jamaica’s economic growth plans, as both entities work hand in hand to create a conducive environment for investment, promote exports, and drive sustainable development in the SEZs and beyond.
