“Federal Transformer Manufacturing & Consulting (FTMC) Limited launched the transformer repair and maintenance company today, July 17, in Lydford St. Ann. The company, which is the brainchild of returning Canadian resident Granville Reid, comes to fruition after almost two years of research and training of 23 electrical engineers. The project received funding through the EXIM Bank.
FTMCL will manufacture and refurbish transformers of various sizes and voltage output levels. The company aims to create jobs for over 300 Jamaicans.
To witness the opening of the manufacturing company were Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce, Hon. G. Anthony Hylton , MP for South East St. Ann and Minister of Youth and Culture Hon. Lisa Hanna, Custos Rotulorum Norma Walters, His Worship the Mayor Councillor Desmond Gilmore and MP of North East St. Ann Shahine Robinson.
