The Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO) in partnership with the leading global market research company, Euromonitor International, has launched a market intelligence platform to provide valuable insights on potential markets for export and industry developments. The Market Tracker tool aims to help local businesses understand export market conditions and opportunities and observe upcoming consumer trends.
The online database, which will be available for JAMPRO clients and registered exporters, contains information on eight major country markets, including Canada, China, France, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The platform distils large amounts of data and insights into actionable intelligence, and shares compelling overviews, trends, forecasts, and market drivers.
The Market Tracker also focuses on key sectors/industries to provide targeted data; including food, beverages, apparel, personal care and key areas like retailing to give insight on consumer behaviour globally.
Through this interactive platform, Jamaica’s business community will have access to valuable data to plan their export strategies, market penetration activities, and to capitalise on global business trends. Marco Lombardo, Senior Advisor, Governments and Trade from Euromonitor International noted that the organization was pleased to partner with JAMPRO to provide this information for the island’s companies.
“We are delighted to partner with JAMPRO and, through the Market Tracker service, support the international development of Jamaican businesses. Given the current complexity surrounding global economies and markets, it becomes a key and crucial success factor to incorporate market intelligence into business development processes in order to identify challenges, market entry barriers as well as real trade opportunities”, Mr. Lombardo commented.
Diane Edwards, President of JAMPRO highlighted that the portal is just one of many initiatives being launched by the Agency to better assist local companies with strategizing and identifying demand for products in major markets.
“Our main goal at JAMPRO is working to make it easier for exporters, manufacturers and investors to do business, and this platform represents an opportunity to meet this priority for the Agency,” noted Edwards. By using the Market Tracker, the business community will be empowered with the knowledge they need to make the right decisions, at the right time. This platform will be a game changer for many, and we are happy that Euromonitor has joined us on this initiative.”
JAMPRO clients and registered exporters are invited to indicate their interest to sign up for access the platform. The Agency continues the development of the mobile site to ensure ease of access to the platform.
