Jamaica today (January 9, 2021) celebrated the Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee Day (JBMCD), which takes place annually.
Organised by JAMPRO, the Jamaica Coffee Exporters Association (JCEA), and the Jamaica Agricultural Commodities Regulatory Authority (JACRA), JBMCD is celebrated globally and commemorates the date of the first large shipment of JBM coffee to Japan in 1967.
Participants enjoyed special beverages and complimentary coffee across the island and experienced what is known as one of the rarest coffees globally, because of its exclusive growing conditions in the Blue Mountains.
It is hoped that through the JBMCD initiative, consumption will increase, and more Jamaicans will participate in the industry.
