Jamaica triumphant at Outsource to the Caribbean’s BPO of the Year Awards

Jamaican outsourcing company itelBPO Smart Solutions was recognised as the Caribbean BPO of The Year and Employer of the Year at the BPO of The Year awards ceremony that was held at the 2019 staging of the Outsource to the Caribbean Conference (OCC). The awards show and conference took place on May 9-10, 2019, and was held at the Santa Barbara Beach and Golf Resort on the island of Curaçao.

Jamaica was among 13 Caribbean territories, and was rivalled by Qualfon out of Guyana, who won in the other two categories of Caribbean BPO Investor of the Year and Caribbean BPO Innovator of the Year. The awards recognised the performance of regional Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) firms that have continued to expand their investments in the region by increasing their services, employment, and innovation in the Outsourcing sector.

In addition to the awards ceremony, OCC 2019 explored how the region could propel the BPO industry, the Caribbean’s readiness for Blockchain Technology, and examined why the Caribbean is an excellent location for BPO investments. The event aimed to boost the region’s BPO industry, with the hope of attracting investments in various Outsourcing areas.

Outsource to the Caribbean was coordinated by CAIPA, Caribbean Export, the EU and the Curaçao Investment & Export Promotion Agency (CINEX). JAMPRO sponsored the event with the Trinidad and Tobago International Financial Centre (TTIFC); GO-Invest Guyana Office of Foreign Investment, and fDi Intelligence Magazine.
