Vice President of Sales and Promotions at JAMPRO, Claude Duncan, said that as part of JAMPRO’s strategy for the development of the Jamaican economy, the Agency is looking for projects and initiatives in the technology sector that will help to propel Jamaica’s economic growth and drive innovation in the country’s business sector. He made the comment at the Tech Beach Retreat in Montego Bay, earlier this month.
Introducing a session on blockchain technology, Mr. Duncan noted that Jamaica must increase its use of technology to move the country forward, and that the public and private sector must collaborate to encourage innovation in business, especially in the financial sector. JAMPRO is currently working to promote projects in software development, animation and applications that provide technical assistance.
Tech Beach is a product of the Destination Experience. The event aims to build a global business ecosystem to inspire greater deal flow while providing access to markets, capital and other necessary resources.
